DraftHoops is a free, independent, fan-made basketball drafting game. By using it you agree to what follows. It is written to be read, not to be impressive, so it is short.

Who can use it

DraftHoops is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use the site.

Your account

• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
• Your username is public. It appears in matchups and on the leaderboards, so pick accordingly.
• Usernames that impersonate someone else, or that are hateful or obscene, may be reset or removed.
• You can have your account and its data deleted at any time by emailing us. See the Privacy Policy.

Fair play

The game is built on the idea that you do not know the hidden ratings while you draft. Please do not:

• Extract, reverse engineer or automate access to the underlying player ratings or prices in order to draft against them.
• Use bots or scripts to play, or to inflate a rating or a leaderboard position.
• Run multiple accounts to farm wins against yourself.
• Attack, overload or attempt to break the site or its infrastructure.

None of this is heavily policed, because this is a small project run by one person. Ratings, leaderboard entries and accounts that are obviously manipulated may be reset or removed.

Your content

Teams you draft and save, and anything you send through the in-game bug and suggestion form, may be shown to other players (for example as a Hall of Fame team other people draft against, or on the leaderboards) and may be used to improve the game. Do not submit anything you are not comfortable sharing.

Availability, and that this is a hobby project

DraftHoops is provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, and no guarantee that your data, ratings or saved teams will survive forever. Modes get changed, ratings get retuned, and ladders have been reset before and may be reset again. Features can appear and disappear. This is a side project, not a service you are paying for, and it should be treated that way.

We may change or discontinue any part of the game at any time, and may update these terms as it evolves. The date at the top changes when we do.

Advertising

DraftHoops may show ads to help cover its running costs. How advertising and its cookies work is described in the Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

DraftHoops is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NBA, its teams, or any player. Player names and statistics are facts of public record. Player statistics come from Basketball Reference and player photographs come from Wikimedia Commons, each retaining its own license and attribution. All trademarks belong to their respective owners. See the About page for more on where the data comes from.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, DraftHoops is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the limitations that are allowed still apply.
